Homeowner fights off invaders armed with shotgun and hammer


On Thursday, August 9, 2017, at approximately 5:50 a.m., the front-door bell rang at a residence in the area of Delaney Drive and Ravenscroft Road in Ajax. The homeowner answered the door to find a female standing at the door. Immediately, two males with their faces disguised, one armed with a shotgun and the other a hammer, forced their way into the house. The homeowner struggled with the suspect that was armed with a hammer. Both suspects fled from the residence in an unknown direction. There were five occupants, two adults and three children under 11-years-old who were not physically injured during the incident.

At this time, police do not believe this is a random incident. Responding officers, including a K-9 Unit, searched the area but did not locate the suspects.

Suspect #1 is described as: female, white, approximately 30-35 years of age, average build, dirty blonde hair.

Suspect #2 is described as: male, black, approximately 18-20 years of age, approximately 6′ tall with dark clothing and armed with a shotgun.

Suspect #3 is described as: male, black, in his 20’s, approximately 6′ tall with dark clothing and armed with a hammer.
