York Regional Police has laid impaired driving charges and officers are seeking additional witnesses following a single-vehicle collision in Vaughan.
On Wednesday, August 30, 2017, at approximately 5:20 a.m., an officer on general patrol came across a vehicle that had collided into a rail bridge on Keele Street north of Steeles Avenue. The vehicle had been extensively damaged and the guardrail on the bridge had been compromised. The driver of the vehicle was found in the driver’s seat suffering from non-life-threatening injuries. He was extricated from the vehicle and taken to hospital. While in hospital, officers observed signs that the driver was impaired by drug and he was placed under arrest and has been charged.

The investigation is ongoing and any witnesses who have not yet spoken with police, or anyone who may have dashcam footage of the collision are being asked to please come forward.
