Lindsay woman caught stealing cookies found to have numerous outstanding warrants


A Lindsay woman who was arrested by the staff of a downtown grocery store for stealing cookies was also found to be wanted on a number of outstanding charges after police were called to assist.

Kawartha Lakes Police responded to the store at 4:00 p.m. Friday, August 18th, 2017 after being contacted by store staff who had caught the woman stealing some cookies and some bread. When the officer arrived, it was discovered that the woman was also wanted on a warrant for a number of outstanding theft and credit card related charges. Those charges stemmed from an investigation involving the theft of a wallet and subsequent fraudulent transactions completed with the stolen credit cards in July of this year.

Charged with Using a Stolen Credit Card  x5, Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000.00, Theft Under $5000.00 and Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000.00 is 27 – year – old Jacklyn Burns of Lindsay. She will appear in the Lindsay, Ontario Court of Justice on Thursday, September 21st, 2017.
