On Saturday, June 3, 2017, at 11:34 a.m., police responded to a call for a personal injury collision at Kingston Road and Ridgemoor Avenue .
It is reported that:
- a woman, 70, was attempting to cross Kingston Road, on the west side of Ridgemoor Avenue
- a man, 59, was driving a 2011 Toyota Camry, northbound on Ridgemoor Avenue, attempting to make a left turn to westbound Kingston Road
- the woman was struck by the vehicle as she attempted to cross the road
The pedestrian suffered life-threatening injuries and was transported to hospital where she was pronounced on Sunday, June 4, 2017.
The 59-year-old driver has been charged with:
1. Careless driving
2. Fail to yield to pedestrian
He is scheduled to appear in court on Thursday, September 14, 2017, at Old City Hall, courtroom C, at 1:30 p.m.
