Man sent to hospital with serious head injury after car surfing with friends

On August 1, 2017, at approximately 12:45 a.m., Waterloo Regional Police received a report of a male who fell off a moving SUV on Fischer Hallman Road in Kitchener.

The male, along with other young adults, were in the parking lot of the Forest Heights Library, located at 255 Fischer Hallman Road, when several of them started car surfing. A 19-year-old male was holding onto the back of the SUV when he fell onto the pavement, hitting his head. He was transported to hospital with a serious head injury.

Police do not believe drugs and/or alcohol were factors in this incident. The investigation is ongoing and charges are pending.
