A 33-year-old Oshawa man remains in hospital in stable condition after being stabbed multiple times in downtown Whitby early Saturday morning.

On Saturday, August 12, 2017, at approximately 2:25 a.m., Central West Division officers were called to the area of Mary Street East and Brock Street in Whitby regarding a stabbing. The male victim had been stabbed multiple times in front of a convenience store.

Officers searched the area and a male suspect was arrested behind a business on Brock Street shortly before 3 a.m. The injured male was rushed to hospital and later transported to a Toronto hospital for further treatment.

The investigation revealed two males became engaged in a verbal argument outside the Royal Hotel. They moved down the street where the argument escalated to a physical altercation outside a convenience store. During the altercation one of the males was stabbed multiple times.

Floyd PADMORE, age 30, of Bainbridge Drive in Pickering was charged with Aggravated Assault and Assault with a Weapon. He was held for a bail hearing.
