On Friday August 4th, 2017 shortly before 3:00am, a 38 year old male from Hamilton was operating his low speed motorcycle eastbound on Shaw Street. At the intersection of Shaw and Cheever Street the operator lost control of the motorcycle and collided into the fence line on the north east corner.
The operator has succumbed to his injuries on scene. Detectives believe the operator was not wearing a motorcycle helmet at the time of the collision.
Under the Ontario Highway traffic Act, a low speed motorcycle must have a valid Ontario license plate and the operator must possess a valid Ontario “M” Class Driver’s License. The motorcycle also must be insured under the Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act.
