On August 22, 2017 at approximately 3:00PM, detectives from the Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS), 1 District St. Catharines Street Crime Unit were conducting an investigation when they observed a man driving a red Buick SUV.  The detectives recognized the man as someone who was bound by driving prohibitions.

Detectives approached the SUV when it was stopped in the area of Haig Street and Perry Street in St. Catharines.  The front male passenger was observed to be in possession of a suspected illegal drug.  While officers were in the course of arresting the front passenger the driver fled the scene in the SUV narrowly missing the officer and arrested male.
