The province’s Special Investigations Unit is investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a 45-year-old man in Woodstock.
Preliminary information suggests the following:
• On Wednesday, August 9, 2017, the Ontario Provincial Police requested the assistance of the Woodstock Police Service (WPS) in locating a man.
• A WPS officer was able to speak with the man by phone.
• At approximately 7:30 a.m. on Friday, August 11, 2017, the man was located in a vehicle parked outside the Woodstock General Hospital. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Three investigators and two forensic investigators have been assigned to this incident.
At this time, five officers from WPS have been designated – one subject officer and four witness officers. The post-mortem is scheduled for tomorrow afternoon in London.
