Durham Regional Police are advising the public of three sudden deaths that occurred overnight, which are suspected overdoses. Police are concerned that the drugs used may have been mixed with another substance, possibly Fentanyl.
On Friday, August 11, 2017, at approximately 3:40 a.m., police were called to an apartment building on Falby Court in Ajax where two males had been found deceased. The males, one in his 30s and the other in his 40s, were found in an apartment with drug paraphernalia.
Also on Friday, August 11, 2017, at approximately 6:40 a.m., police were called to the scene of a sudden death in Bowmanville. A male in his 20s was found deceased. It is believed he died of a drug overdose.
In the past two weeks, there have been four fatal overdoses and 12 non-fatal overdoses in Durham Region.
Police are asking the public to speak to their loved ones about the dangers of drug use and the possibility of drugs laced with other substances, such as Fentanyl.
