Vehicle impounded after driver clocked at 104km/h in a 40km/h community safety zone

On Friday, August 25, 2017, new officers with the Waterloo Regional Police service conducted radar training in the area of Woolwich Street South and Menno Street in Woolwich.

This location was chosen due to complaints from the public about speeding in the area. At approximately 10:55 a.m., one of the officers clocked a vehicle allegedly travelling 104 km/h in a 40 km/h community safety zone.

A 25-year-old Kitchener male was charged with stunt driving and had his vehicle impounded for seven days. His license was also immediately suspended for seven days. The driver is also facing a charge of careless driving.
