Investigators with the York Regional Police Hold-Up Unit are seeking assistance to identify two suspects and to locate a stolen vehicle following a carjacking that took place in the City of Markham.

On Wednesday, August 30, 2017, shortly before 8 p.m., York Regional Police were called to Berczy Park South, which is in the area of The Bridle Walk and Holst Avenue for a report of a carjacking. When officers arrived they located the victims, a 25-year-old man and a 19-year-old man, both from the City of Markham. The victims advised that they had been skateboarding in the park when they were approached by two suspects. The suspects, one of whom is believed to have been armed with a handgun, demanded keys to their car. The victims complied and the suspects drove away with the car.

Investigators are appealing to anyone that may know the whereabouts of the stolen vehicle or who have any information about this incident to please come forward.

Suspect #1:

• Male
• 5’8”
• 16 to 17 years
• Thin build with light facial hair
• Wearing grey sweat pants, grey hoodie and carrying a Goodlife gym bag

Suspect #2:

• Male
• 5’8”
• 16 to 17 years
• Medium build
• Long hair on top and short on the sides
• Wearing a light-blue jacket
• Carrying a back pack

Stolen Vehicle:

• 2017 Honda Civic
• White
• Four-door
• Ontario licence plate: CCJD218 

The investigation is ongoing.
