Witnesses sought following suspicious house fire in Vaughan

Investigators with the York Regional Police #4 District Criminal Investigations Bureau are seeking witnesses after a suspicious fire at a house in the City of Vaughan.

On Friday, August 11, 2017, shortly before 2 a.m., York Regional Police responded to a house on fire on Valeria Boulevard, which is located in the area of Weston Road and Langstaff Road. When officers arrived they found smoke and flames coming from the house. There was no one home at the time and the fire was extinguished. The investigation is ongoing but at this time the fire is considered suspicious.

The scene has been held pending an investigation by the Office of the Fire Marshal and Emergency Management.

Investigators are asking any witnesses who may have been in the area at the time of the incident who have not yet spoken to police to please come forward. Investigators are also seeking video surveillance from the area or anyone that may have captured dashcam video on the roadways around the house at the time of the incident.
