Investigators with the York Regional Police Major Collision Investigation Unit are seeking witnesses following a fatal collision in the City of Markham.

On Monday, August 28, 2017, shortly before 11 p.m., York Regional Police responded to the intersection of Markham Road and Denison Street, for a pedestrian who was struck by a vehicle.   

The pedestrian, a 62-year-old man from the City of Markham, was transported to hospital with life-threatening injuries, where sadly he succumbed to those injuries.

The driver, a 43-year-old man from the City of Toronto, remained at the scene.

The investigation is ongoing and any witnesses who have not yet spoken with police, or anyone who may have dashcam footage of the collision are being asked to please come forward.
