(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Norfolk County Detachment investigated a break and enter at a Washington Street, Waterford, Norfolk County, Ontario address.

On Thursday, August 31, 2017 at approximately 1:57 a.m., police received a report of a break and enter at the St Bernard of Clairvaux School.

Through the course of the investigation, it was determined that between 1:08 a.m. and 1:53 a.m. unknowns attended the school and forcibly gained entry by damaging the front and side glass doors. Once inside, unknowns attended various classrooms, damaging desks, book shelves and trophies along with a large quantity of electronics. Unknowns then attempted to rip a sink off the wall in one of the bathrooms which in turn flooded a portion of the school.

The principal’s office, staff room and kitchen area were also entered and vandalized.

The amount of damage is estimated at approximately $10,000 dollars.

Police are continuing to investigate and are waiting on video surveillance that possibly captured those responsible.
