A male driver approached a young child playing on her front yard and invited her into his vehicle Sunday evening in Ajax.

On Sunday, September 17, 2017, at approximately 6:30 p.m. members of West Division responded to a residence in the area of Audley Road and Rushworth Drive in Ajax, after report of a suspicious person who approached a 5-year-old and asked her to get into the vehicle. The young girl’s grandmother was outside and once the suspect saw the girl was not alone, he got into his vehicle and drove away.

Residents are being asked to ensure their children are aware of the possible dangers from suspicious people and vehicles, and have plans on how not to engage in conversation with people not known to them.

The suspect is described as, male, with a tanned complexion, 50-60 years old, wearing a baseball hat, white shirt with stripes, baggy brown pants and a black belt.

The suspect vehicle is described as an older model 4-door sedan possibly green or brown.
