On September 3rd, 2017, at approximately 1:30am, three men were involved in an altercation at a residence in the area of Upper Wentworth Street and Stonechurch Road East. Two of the men received multiple gunshot wounds which are considered serious but not life threatening.

An investigation was conducted and as a result, a warrant has been issued for the arrest of Austin Cubitt,19 years of age, of Hamilton.

Austin Cubitt is charged with two counts of discharging a firearm with intent to wound, two counts of aggravated assault, and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.

The Hamilton Police Service are requesting the assistance of the public.

Cubitt is considered to be armed and dangerous. Members of the public are urged not to approach Cubitt if they see him and should contact 911 immediately.

Austin Cubitt is described as male, standing 5’9”, weighing 125 lbs, slim build with short brown hair cut above the ears and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a blue hoodie (Sweat top) and black running pants.
