The Peterborough Police Service has arrested and charged a Bomanville man after being found impaired and asleep behind the wheel of his vehicle.
Shortly before 4 a.m. on September 25, 2017, officers were dispatched to the intersection of Water Street and Parkhill Road for a possible impaired driver.
When officers arrived they located a man asleep behind the wheel of his motor vehicle that was stopped at a red light. While attempting to wake the man officers detected a strong odour of an alcoholic beverage coming from his breath. As a result of the investigation the man was arrested and charged, his vehicle impounded and his driver’s licence suspended.
The male was brought to the police station where he refused to provide a breath sample.
James Lawrence Adamson, 35, of Liberty Street North, Bowmanville, is charged with impaired driving and fail or refuse to provide a breath sample.
The accused was held in custody and appeared in court on September 25, 2017.
