(COLLINGWOOD ON) – Members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Child Sexual Exploitation Unit, Technological Crime Unit and the Collingwood Detachment have arrested and charged a Collingwood man after conducting a three-month online investigation.

On September 11, 2017, police executed a search warrant at a Collingwood residence. As a result of this investigation, three computers along with numerous other related items were seized which contained images of child sexual abuse.

Police arrested George Charles HALLIWELL, 65 years-old of Collingwood, Ontario. He is charged with one count of Making Available Child Pornography, one count of Possession of Child Pornography and one count of Accessing Child Pornography. The accused was released at a bail hearing and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Collingwood on September 26, 2017.

The investigation is continuing.

The Ontario Provincial Police will continue to aggressively identify and pursue individuals who use technology to exploit children.
