Investigators with the York Regional Police Major Collision Investigation Unit are seeking witnesses following a double fatal collision in the Town of Georgina.   

On Tuesday, September 19, 2017, at 2:17 p.m., police responded to a multi-vehicle collision on Ravenshoe Road, just east of Woodbine Avenue. Investigators determined that a total of seven vehicles were involved including a black Honda Civic, a blue Dodge Caravan, a silver Chevrolet pick-up truck, a white cube van, a silver Kia Rio, a second silver Chevrolet pick-up truck and a grey Hyundai.    .  

When officers arrived on scene, the located two occupants of the Hyundai, an elderly man and woman, both deceased at the scene.

The driver of the black Honda Civic, a 25-year-old man from the Town of Omemee, was taken to hospital with critical injuries.

Four others involved attended hospital with minor injuries.  

The investigation is ongoing and any witnesses who have not yet spoken with police, or anyone who may have dashcam footage of the collision, are being asked to please come forward.

Investigators are also looking for any information on the actions or driving behaviors of any of the involved vehicles prior to the collision. Investigators believe that the black Honda Civic was driving west on Ravenshoe Road, possibly from Highway 48. Any suspicious or concerning observations regarding vehicles involved in this collision should be reported to police.
