A 59-year-old Oshawa male was seriously injured after being struck by a motor vehicle while riding his bicycle in Clarington.

On Monday September 11, 2017 just after 1 p.m., officers were called to the area of Old Scugog Road and Clarington Concession 9 for reports of a serious motor vehicle collision. A 47-year-old male operating a Ford SUV northbound on Old Scugog Road struck a cyclist also riding north on Old Scugog Road. The cyclist suffered serious injuries and was airlifted to a Toronto trauma centre.
