(TOWNSHIP OF NORWICH, ON) – On September 21, 2017, at approximately 2:00 p.m., members of the Oxford County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and Oxford County Emergency Medical Service (EMS) responded to a motor vehicle collision between a pick-up truck and a motorcycle on Highway 59, south of Norwich.

A motorcycle rider travelling northbound on Highway 59 collided with a pick-up truck travelling eastbound Maple Dell Road.

The male motorcyclist was transported to a local hospital and later succumbs to his injuries. The driver of the pick-up truck was uninjured.

ORNG Air Ambulance attended the scene but did not transport the patient.

OPP Technical Collision Investigation (TCI) officers assisted with the investigation.

The deceased male driver has been identified as Daryl DOUGHERTY, 46-years-of-age of Norwich, Ontario.

The collision remains under investigation.
