On Sunday September 17, 2017 shortly after 2:30 p.m. Brantford Police Service received a report of a suspected impaired driver in the area of Chatham Street operating a dark coloured four door Nissan.
Community Patrol Officers attended the area and located the vehicle parked at The Beer Store on Murray Street. The driver was located still inside the vehicle sitting in the driver’s seat with the vehicle still running. The Officers had conversation with the driver and the driver was arrested for Care and Control of a motor vehicle while ability impaired.
The driver, a 49 year old Brantford woman was transported to the Brantford Police Station where she provided two samples of her breath as required by law. The results were two times over the legal limit.
The accused is charged with Care and Control of a Motor Vehicle Over 80 mg. The accused was released on a Promise to Appear with a future court appearance. Further the vehicle the accused was driving was impounded for a 7 day mandatory time period and her driver’s licence was suspended for an automatic 90 day suspension.
