On Wednesday, September 6, 2017, just after 3:00 p.m. police responded to a report of a collision within a school zone on Bronte Crescent in the City of Barrie.
When officers arrived they located a woman inside a vehicle which appeared to have come to an abrupt stop after colliding with an unoccupied vehicle parked on the opposite of the street. The collision had been witnessed by a nearby resident who called 9-1-1 after removing the keys from the vehicle, in belief that the driver was impaired.
A-22-year-old woman was arrested for Impaired Driving and transported the station for further testing. While in custody the woman refused to provide the required breath samples and as a result she was further charged with Fail to Provide a Breath Sample.
The 22-year-old woman did not suffer any injuries and will appear in bail court on Thursday, September 7, 2017.
