A 20-year-old local woman is facing several charges after she attacked officers trying to get her off the middle of the street.

On September 1, 2017, at approximately 4:45 a.m. officers were dispatched to a coffee shop near Princess Street and Sydenham Street for a female causing a disturbance. Upon arrival, the officers located the accused walking in the middle of the road. The accused was crying hysterically over being locked out of her residence. The accused was believed to be under the influence of alcohol and would not cooperate with police. When she refused to get off the street and out of traffic officers moved in to arrest her. The accused became belligerent and combative. Use of physical force was required to handcuff the accused as she

The accused was believed to be under the influence of alcohol and would not cooperate with police. When she refused to get off the street and out of traffic officers moved in to arrest her. The accused became belligerent and combative. Use of physical force was required to handcuff the accused as she spit in the face of one officer and attempted to bite him while kicking the shins of a second officer. Once handcuffed the accused continued to kick at both officers as they attempted to place her in the cruiser.

While at police headquarters the accused continued to be combative and during booking she bit one officer and scratched another.

The accused was charged with four counts of assault police.
