Investigators with the York Regional Police #4 District Criminal Investigations Bureau have charged a 27-year-old man following an arson at a bakery in the City of Vaughan.

On Monday, June 12, 2017, at approximately 1:30 a.m., York Regional Police were called to a bakery on Buttermill Avenue which is in the area of Jane Street and Highway 7. When officers arrived they could see that a window of the store had been broken and it appeared as though a canister containing an accelerant had been thrown inside.

Officers conducted a thorough investigation that led to the identity of the suspect. On September 14, 2017, the suspect was arrested in the City of Kitchener with the assistance of the Waterloo Regional Police.

CHARGED:

• Rustam SULEIMANOV, 27, of the City of Kitchener

CHARGES:

• Arson Causing Damage to Property
• Break and Enter and Commit

The accused will be appearing before the Ontario Court of Justice in the Town of Newmarket on Thursday, September 28, 2017.
