The Sarnia Police Service was contacted on the evening of September 25, 2017 by a family residing at a residence in central Sarnia about a male party that was seen lurking around their home that evening.

The family advised police that on September 24, 2017, at approximately 1:00 am their two daughters were watching TV in the basement and had noticed that a window was open. They then proceeded to lock the window. At approximately 4:00 am the young ladies were startled to see a male peering through their window who was scared away when the girls yelled out. Other family members checked the area but were unable to locate anyone. Police were not contacted at this time.

On September 25, 2017, at approximately 9:15 pm, one of the young ladies was downstairs in her bedroom when she again noticed the same male peering through her window. Members of the family ran out attempting to locate the man but he had taken off from the area. This time police were contacted and also searched the area but were unable to locate anyone.

Fortunately, surveillance cameras had been set up due to the initial incident from September 24, 2017, by the family, and captured the suspect on video.

Officers were able to identify the suspect as a 31-year-old male from Sarnia. Also, the family had posted video and photos on social media of the male outside the window. People were also able to help confirm the identity of this individual through the social media site.

On September 26, 2017, the suspect was arrested at his residence without incident.

The suspect is currently in custody and is to face a bail hearing later today. The accused was charged with voyeurism, trespass at night, break and enter, indecent act, and mischief over $5000.00
