Three suspects believed to be involved in two armed bank robberies in Markham and Vaughan


Investigators with the York Regional Police Hold-Up Unit are seeking public assistance in identifying three suspects and seeking additional witnesses following two armed robberies at banks in the Cities of Markham and Vaughan.  

On Tuesday, September 5, 2017, at 10:18 a.m., York Regional Police responded to a report of a bank robbery at 5762 Highway 7 East, which is in the area of Highway 7 East, west of Main Street Markham. Investigators have learned that three suspects, armed with knives, entered the bank and made a demand for cash. The employees complied and the suspects fled to a car and drove from the scene.

At 10:39 a.m., York Regional Police received a report that a second bank had been robbed, at 8707 Dufferin Street, just north of Highway 7 in the City of Vaughan. In this robbery three suspects also entered the bank, with at least one of the suspects armed with a gun. The suspects made a demand for cash and the employees complied. The suspects fled to a car and drove from the scene.

While the investigation is in its early stages, investigators believe the same suspects are involved in both incidents.

• Male
• Wearing masks
• 20 to 28 years
• Armed with knives
• At least one suspect armed with a gun

Suspect Vehicle:

• Honda Civic
• Dark green
