TORONTO: 25 year-old jogger stabbed in the back by unknown man with large hunting knife


The Toronto Police Service is requesting assistance identifying a man wanted in a stabbing investigation, in the Dupont Street and Manning Avenue area.

It is reported that:

  • on Monday, September 4, 2017, at approximately 11:10 p.m., a man, 25, was jogging westbound along Dupont Street, approaching Manning Avenue
  • he was stabbed in the back by an unknown man
  • the man then fled, southbound on Manning Avenue
  • he was seen in the Manning Avenue and London Street area

The suspect is described as white, approximately 55-60, stocky build, buzz haircut with hair approximately 1-2 inches long. He was wearing a white or pale colour dress shirt, tucked into dark pants.

He was seen holding a large hunting knife as he fled.

Investigators are seeking the public’s assistance and requesting anyone with information to contact police, particularly, anyone with video footage from private security cameras and/or dash-mounted cameras on vehicles which may have captured the incident and/or an image of the suspect.

The suspect is to be considered armed and dangerous. Should members of the public observe and/or locate him, do not approach. Call 9-1-1 immediately.
