(BOSANQUET TWP, ON) – On September 24, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. members of the Lambton Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) attended the area of Lakeshore Road near the entrance to the Pinery Provincial Park, Bosanquet Township to investigate a collision between a motorcycle carrying two passengers; Brian and Heather BLACKBURN of Grand Bend, Ontario and a GMC pickup truck, being operated by a male from the State of Michigan.

The investigation revealed that at this time a Harley Davidson motorcycle had been travelling southbound on Lakeshore Road when the pick-up truck exited the Pinery Provincial Park. The motorcycle, having the lawful right of way, collided with the driver’s side of the pick-up truck. The two passengers of the motorcycle were ejected from the motorcycle.

The operator of the motorcycle suffered significant injuries while the passenger suffered severe injuries. An initial medical assessment of the passenger and her injuries caused the Air Ambulance to attend and transport her to Hospital. Later, her medical condition was downgraded to serious but stable.

As a result of the investigation, Robert VARGO, 64 years-of-age of Michigan was charged with Failing to Yield to Traffic, Section 144(8) of the Highway Traffic Act. Lakeshore Road was closed for a period of time while the OPP continued their investigation.
