UPDATE: Further to the media release on September 18, 2017, the Halton Regional Police Service initiated an investigation to identify the two suspects involved in an armed robbery at the Shoppers Drug Mart on 2501 Third Line, Oakville. Investigators were able to identify a vehicle believed to be involved in the robbery.
On Wednesday, September 20, 2017, Halton Regional Police Service arrested two men alleged to have committed a robbery from the Shoppers Drug Mart, located at 3023 New Street in Burlington from June 22nd 2017. Both men were found to be in possession of a variety of prescription narcotics (opioids) and cocaine.
In the early morning hours of September 21, 2017, the Halton Police Tactical Rescue Unit executed a search warrant at a residence on Mount Forest Drive, Burlington. A search of the residence resulted in the seizure of two replica firearms, prescription narcotics, and clothing linking both suspects to the two above mentioned Shoppers Drug Mart robberies.
Both suspects were charged with 49 criminal charges including:
• Robbery using a Firearm
• Forcible Confinement
• Pointing a Firearm
• Uttering Threats
• Disguise with Intent
• Possession of Controlled Substance
1. Abdollah ABDULMAJID (37 years) of Burlington
2. Dylan LOSHAW (19 years) of Hamilton
Both men have been held for bail.
The Halton Regional Police are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying two suspects involved in an armed robbery.
On Monday, September 18, 2017, at approximately 3:00 AM, two males armed with handguns entered the Shoppers Drug Mart located at 2501 Third Line, Oakville.
The suspects ordered the pharmacist to fill a bag with narcotics and fled on foot. The suspects were observed getting into a burgundy SUV – possibly an older model Ford Escape which fled southbound on Third Line. No one was injured during the course of the robbery.
One suspect is described as being 20 to 30 years old, light brown skin, slight accent, black Adidas sweater with blue logo on front, rainbow coloured Adidas logos on back of sweater, black baseball cap, black and white bandana, dark pants, black gloves and white shoes with a dark stripe on the side.
The second suspect is described as being 20 to 30 years old, tanned skin, thin build, grey hooded zip up sweater, yellow bandana, black/orange/white toque, dark pants and black gloves with white logos.
