Waterloo Regional Police are warning residents of a possible scam taking place in Waterloo Region.
Police have received three complaints from residents in the Galt area of Cambridge and Borden Avenue in Kitchener who report that a male has approached them at their home requesting to clean their eaves troughs. The male acts aggressively and seems to target women and elderly women who live alone.
On September 6, 2017, police received a report that the suspicious male came back to one of the residences after being denied work and allegedly broke in, stealing personal items. He was confronted by the homeowner but fled on a bicycle.
The male is described as white, 40 to 50-years-old, five-feet seven inches to five-feet eight inches tall with a thin build, short brown hair and light facial scruff.
Investigators are encouraging other potential victims and witnesses to come forward. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 519-650-8500 ext. 8422 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
