Gun allegedly seized in execution of search warrant

The Toronto Police would like to make the public aware of an arrest made in an investigation involving a firearm and a quantity of drugs.

It is alleged that:

  • on Monday, October 16, 2017, members from the 32/33 Division Street Violence Task Force, executed a Criminal Code search warrant at an address in the Oakwood Avenue and Vaughan Road area.

As a result of the search warrant the following items were seized:

  • a .22-calibre rifle that had been shortened in length
  • seven rounds of .22-calibre long ammunition
  • 62 grams of crystal methamphetamine
  • a small quantity of marihuana
  • a quantity of Canadian currency

Terrell Philbert, 18, of Toronto was arrested. He has been charged with:

1) Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited Weapon with Ammunition
2) Possession of a Firearm Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized
3) Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
4) Unsafe Storage – Firearm
5) Possession of a Schedule I substance for the Purpose of Trafficking
6) Possession of a Schedule I substance
7) Possession of a Schedule II substance
8) Possession of Proceeds of Crime
9) Fail to Comply Recognizance

He was scheduled to appear in court on Monday, October 16, 2017, at 1000 Finch Avenue West, at 10 a.m..
