Investigators with the York Regional Police Major Collision Investigation Unit are seeking witnesses following a serious pedestrian collision in the Town of Newmarket.
On Wednesday, October 25, 2017, at approximately 8:25 a.m., York Regional Police responded to the area of Bristol Road just east of Yonge Street for a pedestrian who had been struck by a vehicle.
The pedestrian, an 83-year-old man from Newmarket, was transported to hospital with life-threatening injuries. His condition has improved in hospital and is now considered non-life-threatening.
The driver, a 38-year-old woman from East Gwillimbury, was not injured.
This investigation is ongoing. Any witnesses who have not yet spoken with police are being asked to please come forward.
