(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Norfolk County Detachment is currently investigating a single motor vehicle collision at a Charlotteville West ¼ Line Road, Charlotteville, Norfolk County, Ontario address.

On Saturday, October 7, 2017, at approximately 5:21 a.m., OPP, Norfolk County Fire and Rescue Services and Paramedics responded to a single motor vehicle collision.

Through the course of the investigation, it has determined that a pickup truck was travelling northbound on Charlotteville West ¼ Line Road when the truck left the roadway entering the west ditch colliding with a tree. The vehicle subsequently caught fire which was extinguished by attending fire fighters.

As a result, emergency personnel located a deceased person inside the vehicle.

OPP Technical Collision Investigators are assisting with the investigation.

The identity of the deceased is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.

Charlotteville West ¼ Line Road is currently closed between McDowell Road East to Charlotteville Road 11. It is anticipated that the road closure will remain in effect for approximately 5 hours to allow for investigation.
