On Thursday October 5, 2017 at approximately 12:15 a.m. three individuals attended an address on Murray Street and stole an inflatable Halloween decoration that had been on the front lawn.

The home owner observed the three accused persons stealing her law ornament and summoned two other persons in the home. The two persons chased after the three accused parties catching up with them at the corner of Grey Street and Brock Street. One victim attempted to retrieve the stolen Halloween inflatable item and was pushed by Accused #1. Accused #2 began threatening to shoot the victims. A third accused also joined in and pushed and punched at one of the victims. The victims began to slowly walk back away from the accused persons and continued to be told by Accused #2 to keep walking back or he would shoot them. It can be noted that the victims did not see any weapons only that Accused #2 kept his hand behind his back.  Community Patrol Officers were contacted during the disturbance and attended immediately. The three accused were arrested.

Accused #1, Daniel Harold BROUGHTON, 36 years of age of Brantford is charged with Assault and Theft under $5,000.00.
