A 20-year-old male faces numerous charges including impaired operation after fleeing from police early Wednesday morning in Uxbridge.

On Wednesday, October 04, 2017, at approximately 12:40 a.m., officers from North Division attempted to stop a vehicle on Toronto Street in Uxbridge. The vehicle was travelling at a high rate of speed southbound on Toronto Street at Campbell Drive. The driver refused to stop and once the emergency lights were activated, the suspect fled through residential streets. Other units who responded observed the vehicle however, the suspect continued to drive in an erratic manner. Due to the high speeds, the pursuit was terminated for safety reasons.

Air1 assisted and they observed the vehicle drive off the roadway and into a field in attempts to evade police. The suspect vehicle, which was described as a white four-door Acura sustained extensive damage to its tires. The suspect then fled on foot through the fields into a residential construction zone. The suspect hid in the basement of a new build and with the assistance of Air1 and York Regional Police officers, the male was taken into custody.

Harison SIVASORUBAN, age 20, of Regal Court in Markham, is charged with: Impaired Operation; Exceed 80 mgs; Assault with Intent to Resist; Dangerous Operation of Motor Vehicle; Fail To Stop For Police and numerous Highway Traffic Act offences. He was released on a promise to appear.
