Man assaults bus driver after being told he didn’t have enough for his fare

Man wanted for Assault on TTC operator, Steeles Avenue West and Yonge Street

The Toronto Police Service requests the public’s assistance locating a man wanted in an Assault investigation.

On Thursday, July 6, 2017, at 5:57 p.m., officers responded to a call for an Assault on board a TTC bus in the Yonge Street and Steeles Avenue West area.

It was reported that:

  • a man got on a bus and deposited a small amount of change as fare
  • the operator advised him the fare was not enough
  • the man began swearing at the bus operator
  • as the man was leaving the bus, he turned and assaulted the operator

The man is described as 30-40 years old, 6’, 160-170 lbs., thin build with a beard. He was wearing a light green t-shirt, green and black pants.
