A pedestrian was seriously injured at the scene of a single motor vehicle collision on Saturday evening in Pickering.

On Saturday, October 14, 2017 at approximately 9:05 p.m., members from West Division were called to Kingston Road and Liverpool Road in Pickering, regarding a pedestrian being struck by a motor vehicle.

A 2007 Toyota Highlander being operated by a 56-year-old male was travelling westbound on Kingston Road, the vehicle made a left turn onto southbound Liverpool Road and struck a pedestrian. There were five occupants in the Toyota at the time of the collision.

The pedestrian a 31-year-old female from Oshawa, was transported to a Toronto Trauma Centre where she remains in critical condition.

Collision investigators from the Traffic Services Branch were called and the roadway was closed for several hours to collect evidence and conduct their investigation. The investigation is ongoing. Police would like to hear from any witnesses to this collision, who have not already spoken to police.
