On Friday October 13, 2017 shortly after 8:00 a.m. a male broke into a garage and a trailer at a residence located on Baldwin Ave.

The male fled on a bicycle towing a shopping cart which contained property stolen from the Break and Enter.  The home owners who were returning home observed the unknown male with their property in the shopping cart.  The home owners confronted the male in order to get their property back.  The male pulled a knife on them, fled on foot towards River Road and jumped over the retaining wall.  The home owners remained with the shopping cart and called 9-1-1, Community Patrol Officers along with the BPS K9 Unit attended the area in search of the suspect.  The suspect was located near the river and arrested for the Break and Enter.

At the time of the arrest the accused was found to be in possession of items taken including Jewelry.  The home owners were not injured during the confrontation.  A 21 year old Brantford man remains in custody while the investigation continues.  The accused is facing charges of Break, Enter and Commit and Weapon related offences and will be held in custody for a bail hearing.
