LONDON, ON (October 17, 2017) – On Saturday, October 14, 2017, at 12:50 am, a man entered a gas station located at 1331 Dundas Street. He was in possession of a firearm when he approached the counter and demanded money from the cashier. The man fled the store with an undisclosed amount of Canadian currency.

He left the gas station in 1988 red Chevrolet Corvette convertible with a beige top, which had been reported stolen from Watford, ON, at approximately 8 pm the evening before.

London Police responded and the vehicle was located in a parking lot in the area of York Street and Adelaide Street, unoccupied.

A male fitting the description of the suspect involved in the robbery exited a nearby business where he was arrested by officers.

Anyone who may have seen a 1988 red Chevrolet Corvette convertible with a beige top on the evening of October 13th or early morning of October 14th, is asked to contact London Police Service Criminal Investigation Division at (519) 661-5674 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).

Wade Cran, 34 years, of Hamilton, Ontario is charged with the following Criminal Code of Canada offences;

  • Armed robbery;
  • Carry concealed weapon;
  • Pointing a firearm;
  • Use of firearm during commission of an indictable offence;
  • Possession of firearm or ammunition contrary to prohibition order;
  • Careless use of firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition;
  • Unauthorized possession of a prohibited or restricted weapon;
  • Possession of property obtained by crime under $5000; and
  • Possession of property obtained by crime over $5000.
