Two DRPS officers bitten during arrest of 17 year-old male

Two officers received minor injuries after they were bitten by a 17-year-old male who was resisting arrest.

On Thursday, October 5, 2017, at approximately 8:20 p.m., a male was running into traffic in the King Street East and Oshawa Boulevard North area of Oshawa. Two officers responded and as they tried to apprehend the male under the Mental Health Act, the male resisted and bit both officers.

The officers were treated for minor injuries.

A 17-year-old male from Oshawa has been charged with Assault with Intent to Resist Arrest x2. He was held for a psychiatric assessment.
