On Saturday October 14, 2017 the Niagara Regional Police Service received information that two young females were involved in the sex trade and were being housed at a hotel in Niagara Falls.    Initially uniform members of the Niagara Regional Police attended the scene and commenced an investigation.

Members of the 2 District (Niagara Falls) Detective Services with the assistance of the Special Investigative Services Morality Unit commenced a follow up investigation into Human Trafficking.  As a result of that investigation two males from Hamilton were arrested for Human Trafficking related offences.

Jerdaine FOSTER 24 years of age and Shamaree SALMON 23 years of age have each been charged with Trafficking in Persons Under 18 years and Receiving a Material Benefit contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.  Both FOSTER and SALMON were held for a bail hearing that took place at the Ontario Court of Justice in St. Catharines on Sunday October 15, 2017.
