UPDATE: 65 year-old Thorold woman succumbs to her injuries


At approximately 4:20 p.m. on Tuesday, September 26th, 2017, the Niagara Emergency Medical Services, Thorold Fire Service and the Niagara Regional Police Service responded to reports of a pedestrian being struck by a motor vehicle at the intersection of Pine Street South and Albert Street West in the City of Thorold, within the Regional Municipality of Niagara.

Initial investigation revealed that a 65-year-old female resident of Thorold was crossing Pine Street South when she was struck by a 2014 Hyundai Elantra that was making the turn from Albert Street West onto Pine Street South.  This female pedestrian was airlifted to an out of town hospital with life threatening injuries. The 59-year-old female driver of the Hyundai is also a resident of Thorold and did not suffer any injuries in this collision.  

**UPDATE #1**

On Sunday, October 1st, 2017 the 65-year-old female pedestrian, Theresa Salfi succumb to her injuries. 

Police would like to speak to any witnesses that may have seen this collision.

This collision remains under investigation by Detectives of the Niagara Regional Police Services Collision Reconstruction Unit.
