Hamilton Police investigate a Fail to Remain Collision that resulted in a pedestrian being struck. The suspect vehicle has fled the scene and police are now asking the public for their assistance in locating the parties responsible.

On Wednesday, November 1, 2017 shortly after 4:00pm, Hamilton Police responded to the report of a pedestrian being struck by a motor vehicle in the area of Grange Street and Liberty Street. Emergency Medical Service and Hamilton Police arrived to find a woman had been struck by a vehicle.  The female was transported to hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Prior to the collision, the pedestrian had been walking on Grange Street with friends when a newer model black sport utility vehicle (SUV) drove past the group.  The vehicle was struck with an object.  The vehicle stopped and reversed striking the young woman.  The SUV accelerated forward and was last seen travelling west on Grange Street.

There were two occupants in the SUV.  The driver is described as a 25 to 35 year old man, medium complexion with a short trimmed beard.  A young child occupied the front passenger seat of the SUV.

The SUV sustained minor rear end damage.
