(PEMBROKE, ON) – On November 6, 2017 the Crime Unit of the Upper Ottawa Valley Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) began investigating after a victim reported being assaulted, threatened and robbed at a residence in the City of Pembroke in early November 2017.

On November 8, 2017 the Upper Ottawa Valley OPP Crime Unit, with the assistance of the Tactics and Rescue Unit (TRU) Emergency Response Team (ERT) and Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) executed two Criminal Code (CC) search warrants at residences on Pembroke Street West and Bronx Street in the City of Pembroke. A firearm, imitation firearms, drugs and cell phones were seized by police during the searches.

The following men are facing CC charges as a result:

Cody Delang LAPIERRE, age 28, and Anthony Mitchell KARGUS, age 43, both of Pembroke are each charged with:

  • Assault with a weapon
  • Uttering Threats to Cause Death or Bodily Harm

Shawn Patrick DRUMMOND, age 41 of Laurentian Valley Township, is charged with:

  • Assault
  • Robbery with Violence
  • Assault with a Weapon
  • Uttering Threats to Cause Death or Bodily Harm

Terry Lyle Wilford TURCOTTE, age 23 of Pembroke, is charged with:

  • Use Firearm while Committing an Offence
  • Pointing a Firearm
  • Assault with a Weapon
  • Uttering Threats to Cause Death or Bodily Harm

All four men were held for a bail hearing on November 9, 2017 and all remain in custody until their next appearance at the Ontario Court of Justice in Pembroke on November 14, 2017.
