Several caring citizens came to the aid of a robbery victim when he was accosted by a group of youth. Hamilton Police would like to thank the citizens and acknowledge their involvement which directly resulted in the arrest of the group, a short time later.

On Monday, October 30, 2017 shortly after 8:30pm an 80 year old male victim was walking in the area of Kingfisher Drive and Heron Place when he was accosted by a group of youth demanding money. The victim was able to walk away from the group as he was approached by witnesses. He was not physically injured during the incident and the youth were unsuccessful in their efforts.

With the assistance of the witnesses, the victim returned home and they contacted police. After communication with the witnesses police were able to locate and arrest several youth responsible. Three 15 year old youth have been charged with Robbery.

As the youth are under the age of 18 their identity cannot be released. They will be brought before the court on Tuesday, October 31, 2017 to answer to the charge of Robbery.

Police would like to remind everyone to be aware of their surroundings and to report suspicious activities when viewed, to police.
