Two Thunder Bay women are facing criminal charges following an incident last night in the city’s north side.
TBPS uniform patrol officers responded to reports of a theft of beer from the Dawson Road Safeway last night just after 8:45 p.m.
It was reported that two females had taken beer from the store and fled in an erratic manner from the parking lot in a Kia Optima.
The vehicle was later involved in a hit and run collision with a pickup truck on West Arthur Street near Euclid Avenue.
The Kia was stopped by police just before 11:00 p.m. at Inglewood Crescent and University Drive.
The two female occupants were arrested.
The 18-year-old female driver has been charged with Theft Under $5,000, Dangerous Driving, Failure to Stop at the Scene of an Accident and Impaired Driving.
The 22-year-old female passenger has been charged with Theft Under $5,000.
