(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Norfolk County Detachment is investigating an attempted robbery at a Robinson Street, Simcoe, Norfolk County, Ontario address.
On Thursday, December 28, 2017 at approximately 5:20 p.m., a lone male entered Robinson Mart and Videos and displayed a weapon and demanded money from the cash register. The male’s demands were not met at which time he fled from the store and was last seen running eastbound on Robinson Street and then northbound on Colborne Street.
The employee was not physically injured during this incident.
The suspect is described as male, white, approximately 5’7, medium build, wearing brown coveralls and a black balaclava covering his face.
The Norfolk County OPP Crime Unit is continuing to investigate and is seeking assistance from the public. If anyone has any information regarding this incident or can identify the person, please contact the Norfolk County OPP Detachment at 1-888-310-1122.
On January 10, 2018, members of the Norfolk County Crime Unit arrested and charged 22-year-old Dustin Drake LIGHT of Norfolk County, Ontario with attempted robbery, wear disguise with intent and possession of weapons dangerous.
He is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice at a later date.
