The Greater Sudbury Police Service Cyber Crime Unit identified a Sudbury resident that had been involved in Luring teens on the Internet between July 2016 and January of 2018.  The male resident took an image of one 16-year-old teen and then distributed the image.

With assistance from the Integrated Crime Team and Tactical Unit, a search warrant was executed on the 7th of February 2018 at a Greater Sudbury residence.  Computers and data storage devices have been seized for computer forensic examination.

On the 7th of February 2018  a 51-year-old male from Greater Sudbury was arrested and charged with the following offences:

  • Luring a Child Under 18 years of age
  • Luring a Child under 16 years of age (4 counts)
  • Indecent Act (4 counts)
  • Make Child Pornography
  • Distribute Child Pornography

The male will attend bail court on the 8th of February 2018 to answer to the charges.
